Abstract

In this paper, spherical silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were synthesized by green chemical method from silver nitrate and fresh lemon extract. Optical properties, morphology and structure of the Ag NPs were analyzed by UV-Vis, SEM, EDX and XRD. As a result, the Ag NPs has a spherical shape with size about 40 nm. The antibacterial properties of Ag NPs dispersed in ethanol were realized by agar plate diffusion method. The result show that Ag NPs combined with ethanol have good ability to kill Coliforms bacteria. Ethanol without Ag NPs, a Coliforms resistance zone forms at 70% ethanol (volume concentration). When ethanol combined with Ag NPs, an antibacterial zone begins to form at concentration of 10 ppm Ag NPs in ethanol 40 %.
