Abstract

This paper proposes an experimental method on potential of fuel additive - AX 8040 in reducing airpollutant emission SO2 and fuel consumption in fluidized bed boiler. Experiment processes in utilizing and evaluating the effect of fuel additive are performed in long periodic time intervals and built upon a fourphase analysis. In addition, a data collection method is also proposed for flue gas and fuel consumption. As a result, SO2 quantity in flue gas was reduced clearly along with a decrease of 86 kg Canxi cacbonat/1 ton of coal compared with previous time. Moreover, the result showed that about 49 % Canxi cacbonat quantity was economized by using fuel additive. Simultaneously, AX 8040 not only increases combustion efficiency but also prevents formation of deposits and corrosion of metals. This is particularly good at reducing operation and maintenance cost.
