Abstract

In this work, the indentation and scratching process was performed using molecular dynamics simulation to explore the mechanical characteristics of the Cu50Zr50 amorphous alloy. The influences of various indentation and scratching depths on the mechanical characteristics of the Cu50Zr50 amorphous alloy were analyzed through the surface morphology, pile-up height, mean pressure, machining forces, and resistance coefficient. The results exhibited that all of the machining zone, pile-up height, mean pressure, machining forces, and resistance coefficient increase as increasing the machining depth.
