Abstract

This article presents a methodology used to determine some human body sizes from point cloud data. Point cloud datas perform the different angles of the human body obtained from the 3D scanner that will be connect to achieve a three-dimensional model of the human body. This three-dimensional data will be automatically partitioned into sections of the human body based on the three-dimensional segmentation method. Since then groups of height, length and width dimensions of the human body will be determined based on the three-dimensional model of the human body and the cloud point data of each part of the human body. To determine the circumference of size groups, the cross-sectional and convex boundary methods were used to measure the perimeter of the profile received at each section. In particular, the determination of the Length and circumference don’t not require the accurately measurment at the measuring point. Determining human body parameters from the 3D data is more accurate than traditional anthropometric measurements and contributing to faster fashion design.
