Abstract

The PPy/NiO hybrid films were successfully synthesized using a simple vapor phase polymerization method with varying concentrations of FeCl3 salt. The morphologies of the PPy/NiO hybrid materials were observed via scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM) images. The structure of the PPy/NiO hybrid film was analyzed using Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), selected area electron diffraction patterns, and Raman spectra. The results showed that the hybrid film had a much better response to NH3 gas compared to the pure PPy and NiO film at room temperature.
