PRIMARY STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF LEATHER DISTRBUTION METHODS AND CONDITION ON SOME MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF LEATHER/NATURAL RUBBER LATEX COMPOSITE
Abstract
In recent years, the footwear manufacturing industry produced a large amount of waste, most of them burned to pollute the environment. In order to reuse leather waste by creating a new composite material. This paper presents the research results of the investigation of the effects of some methods of scattering of leather scraps into basic natural rubber latex such as mechanical mixing method, ball grinding method. The influence of the machining packages to some mechanical properties and morphological structures of newly formed materials. The study used a combination of theoretical research methods to identify influencing factors and empirical research to investigate the variation of material properties. The mechanical properties considered and evaluated include: tensile strength and tear strength, stiffness, abrasion resistance ... of the sheet material. In addition, the morphological structure of the material is observed by scanning electron microscopy to check the dispersion capacity and phase composition distribution, an important factor contributing to the characterization of the properties of material. The obtained experimental results show that the method of scattering of leather scraps into natural rubber latex has a clear influence on both morphology and mechanical properties of materials. The information obtained from this study will be the scientific basis for the design and manufacture of new materials from waste leather, contributing to economic added value and reducing pollution environment of footwear industry.
