Abstract

In the field of science and technology, friction and wear are always important issues of concern and research. Choosing a suitable lubricant for the working conditions of a machine is one of the factors that helps ensure the working conditions and life of the machines. This article describes the design of a control system for a four-ball friction machine to evaluate the lubricant quality of industrial oil and fly ash additives. Fly ash is used as an additive to increase the viscosity of lubricant oil mixtures. The results show that the scratch width tends to decrease when the additive content increases from 0 % to 0.75 %, then increases sharply at higher additive ratios. When the additive ratio is too high, the ash particles do not disperse evenly on the friction surface, leading to uneven wear and increasing scratch width. The research results provide a basis for selecting suitable lubricants and additives for machines under established working conditions.
