EFFECTS OF AMPERE, VOLTAGE AND PULSE-ON-TIME ON SURFACE ROUGHNESS IN MACHINING OF C45 STEEL USING EDM MACHINE
Abstract
Currently, The EDM generates a controlled and electrical spark between the profiled electrode and the conductive workpiece material. EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) is widely used in order to portray the conductive materials. The study shows the impact of amperes (I), voltage (V) and pulse-ontime (T_on) on surface roughness (Ra) in the processing of C45 steel. The experimental result and ANOVA analysis reveal that pulse-on-time is the most influential factor on surface roughness. It is followed by the ampere, and the voltage is the least influencing factor on surface roughness. The study results will assist technologists in adjusting the insertion parameters at a suitable level, leading to increased productivity and product quality during processing by the EDM method.
