Abstract

During production of textile, there are many reasons that adversely affect product quality. For jacket products sewn from synthetic fabrics such as Polyester, polyamide, Vinylone, the surface of the product is easy to be glossy due to the impact of the product processing process by temperature, pressure when pressing details or finishing products. In this study, the effects of fabric surface gloss were studied, thereby giving a measure to treat the fabric surface by mechanical methods (using sand, sandpaper) and chemical methods (Na2CO3 and Na2SiO3). As a result, when treating the surface of synthetic fabrics that are glossy by Na2CO3 and Na2SiO3, it is possible to remove all light (matte) stains. For heavy stains, chemical treatment has blurred most of the fabric shadows, but not all of them. After testing to determine the color fading of fabric samples that have been mechanically polished, PES fabric samples (P1,P2) were found to have better color fastness than PA and Vinylon fabrics. When treating samples with chemicals, it was found that the treatment with Na2CO3 and Na2SiO3 also more or less affected the color fastness of synthetic fabrics. Some samples of polyester fabric (P2, P3) after treatment still retain the original color, the fabric does not fade. As for the samples of polyester fabric (P1), polyamide fabric (PA1, PA2, PA3), and Vinylon fabric (V1, V2) faded, reaching level 4-5.
